The Gentle Jacobite
A play for the young by Andrew McCaffer, with traditional Scots songs arranged by George C McVicar and John Rankin
Commissioned in 1994 by the Scottish Amateur Music Association, this play with music is cast for 5 young people with an older person playing the role of the Jacobite. Approximately 40 minutes long, this piece is suitable for performance in a theatre, hall or classroom.
Six famous Scots songs (including 'An Eriskay Love Lilt' and 'The Skye Boat Song') are arranged for unison singing with accompaniment for piano and/or guitar.
